Anthony Clark

Profile

Anthony is one of badminton’s most prolific and well-regarded players, competing in two Olympics and winning two silver medals in the 2006 World Championships. After a fantastic career of his own, he will be joining Suffolk Saxons as our head coach, bringing years of international experience to the team.

Anthony started playing badminton at the age of 12 and quickly progressed to the England team within just two years of beginning to play the sport. By the age of 16, Anthony had become Junior National Champion and by the age of 23, he won his first national senior title.

Anthony continued his career to win a record nine successive national senior titles. He was part of the winning mixed doubles team at the 2008 Europeans, England’s only ever Super Series winner in 2009 and has 109 caps for England. Not to mention Anthony’s two silver medals from the World Championships, alongside qualifying and playing in two Olympic Games.

Now, Anthony works passionately as an advocate of the sport and works as one of four coaches in the country who are part of the Elite Coach Programme. He is a Sporting Champion and mentor of several young players, as well as lead commentator in previous seasons of the National Badminton League.
